Celebration of Cathedral

You helped us raise over $106,000 last week – THANK YOU!

We’ll be honest, we were a bit worried that doing a virtual fundraising event might only be half as successful as the real deal – but you proved us wrong!  The Cathedral community has once again stepped up with generous support for Cathedral students, and we are extremely grateful.

Celebration of Cathedral brought in $89,745 in donations, $11,067 from the 50/50 Raffle and $5,540 from the silent auction, for a total of $106,352!

These funds will go towards technology needs at Cathedral, to include the purchase of MacBook Air laptops for our students. Our Laptops for Learners program, which began in 2013, provides every student with a laptop to use during the school year. This program was more critical than ever this year with the unexpected launch into distance learning in March.

While we’ve made it through another school year, we have come to realize that some of the laptops currently being used are over seven years old now, far exceeding their life expectancy.

We are extremely grateful for the outpouring of support this past week, but we’re still $46,648 shy of our goal to raise the $153,000 needed to purchase 175 laptops. At $879 each, they put a bit of a strain on our already tight budget. If it is within your means and you haven’t already given, or if you feel you could do more, we respectfully ask you to please help us fulfill this need.
